British adventurer returns home after 28-year journey around the world
British adventurer Karl Bushby returns to his mother’s home in Hull after completing a 28-year, 50,000-kilometre journey from Chile.
British adventurer Karl Bushby arrived at his mother’s home in Hull on Monday, November 2, completing a remarkable 28-year journey spanning 50,000 kilometres.
The 57-year-old former paratrooper set off from Punta Arenas, Chile, in November 1998, aiming to reach his mother’s doorstep without using conventional transport.
After completing the final leg through northeastern England, Bushby reunited with his mother, Angela, and returned to a family he had been away from for nearly three decades.
He also meets his 36-year-old son Adam and 12-year-old granddaughter for the first time.
