NATO chief Mark Rutte tells Russia to stop its nuclear threats, speaking at the Euronews Defence Summit as Moscow threatens to use its nuclear arsenal. Rutte also said there’s no imminent threat to NATO territory, while Belgian defence chief Theo Francken argued Russia is Belgium’s biggest threat.

    On today’s show:

We report on the main message from NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte‘s interview with our Europe Editor, Maria Tadeo, at our Defence and Space Summit. Rutte tackled the alliance’s most pressing issues as Moscow issues fresh nuclear warnings and pressure grows on Europe to do more for its own defence.

Shona Murray, who interviewed the US and UK ambassadors to NATO, among others, breaks down the biggest impressions at the summit and why Belgian Defence Minister Theo Francken said Russia is Belgium’s biggest threat.
