United’s $936 fare is a regular economy fare with TWO checked bags , normal size carry-on and advanced seat assignment
United also has a $696 fare, but it is a Basic Economy fare. These Basic Economy fares:
- DO NOT allow for advance seat assignments
- DO NOT include checked bags beyond the 1st bag. The second bag is $100 each way
- DO NOT allow for changes
- DO NOT allow for mileage earning unless you have a United co-branded credit card or elite status
- DO NOT allow for cancellations – so if you cancel after the 24 hour risk free period, the Basic Economy version will have no value for future purchase
- Most online travel agencies are not properly displaying these fares with United as BASIC ECONOMY
